Blue & Orange .. a wahoo wedding!
I seriously love planning Wahoo weddings! Charlottesville turns into wedding la-la land in the spring and summer – love floats all around and weddings are beyond beautiful in this college town! One of my favorite things about Charlottesville is how many creative minds live here. I am a huge fan of the local vendor scene we have in Charlottesville and as we all know planning a wedding can be stressful for a bride – luckily – UVA brides have TONS of fantastic resources only a few miles away from their dear alma mater! One of my favorite places to shop in Cville is called LOLA BOUTIQUE – the owners – Jessica & Irene fill their store with the best of the best trends .. and for a warm weather wedding .. lets just say they stock some AMAZING dresses! (your bridesmaids will thank you!) I am also a HUGE fan of cupcakes! As most know cupcakes are one of the hottest trends for 2011 weddings - they also make wonderful favors! Maria Porter is the woman behind Charlottesvile Cupcake and I HIGHLY recommend her tasty treats! The University of Virginia is proud to rock the blue & orange, so here is my idea of a fun & flirty Wahoo wedding!

Fiesta! Ole!
I am a May 3rd baby, and I have always loved celebrating Cinco de Mayo. I LOVE Mexican food, and just about everything that has to do with the culture!
When I think of Mexican traditions I often think of a beautiful woman named Irma. Irma is one of the hardest workers I have ever met! She is always there to lend a helping hand (or two!), and she always has the brightest smile on her face, and a little dance in her step!
Irma is full of life, which is exactly what a Mexican wedding is all about, enjoying life and celebrating. The key idea for this theme is bright festive colors, dancing, friends, family, and happiness!
Hot Fresh Carpe Donuts {vendor spotlight}
Recently recognized by the Cville Weekly as a runner up in the 2010 Best of Cville competition, Carpe donut will add the extra touch to your next event by serving hot organic apple cider donuts! This family run business is Charlottesville’s new favorite caterer to have on your list. Carpe Donut can not only be used for late night snacks at weddings but also at community, corporate, and private events!
At the end of any evening guests always want coffee, which is why locally roasted organic coffee is served by this friendly staff. Let carpe donuts take this detail off your to do list for your next event. The best part about these delicious donuts is that they are organic, made from local products, and made from scratch – yum!!
Find out for yourself what all the buzz around Charlottesville is about on twitter and treat yourself to some scrumptious donuts! Carpe donuts can be found at Fridays after five so go enjoy your next friday with some organic donuts and great music and friends.

Sugar Magnolias {vendor spotlight}
Who wouldn’t want fresh seasonal blooms at their wedding to add that unique touch! Sugar Magnolias offers seasonal blooms and many other options for you that are all grown locally. Jenn Pineau with Sugar Magnolias will provide her services for weddings, businesses, and estates. Located at The Inn at Westwood Farm, Jenn’s garden, is filled with growing memories waiting to be shared with you and your loved ones.
This seasonal bloom theme will light up any room with their presence along with creating memories for anniversaries to come if used for weddings (this is my favorite part)! Sugar Magnolias also offers a special service of planting seeds specifically for your event, but you have to make sure to book in advance! Another tip from Jenn herself is to “Reuse, reduce, and recycle” this will help save money, so make sure to transfer your flowers from your ceremony site to your reception location.
